Who Am I?

...as a blogger who am I? Blog's used to be an online journal to document what you were up to. Most of the more interesting ones tend to deal with bigger issues that focus on an entire profession (such as Physical Therapy). I have always tried to blend the two; often being cautious about discussing outright my feelings on some controversial topics so as not to offend anyone or bring a negative image upon the profession I am associating myself with.

As I transition into becoming an entry-level clinician and a New Professional I have been reflecting a little... in addition to the wealth of fascinating blog's related to PT out there (which I hope to list in an upcoming post) I feel I need to step my "blog-game" up. I have received little feedback from my readers and I thrive on feedback. All I have been told is I provide a decent amount of "noteworthy" topics. I was recently interviewed by PT Magazine about Web 2.0 and it's use in PT (apparently now there is a Web 3.0). In this interview I stated that my objective with this blog was to help disperse information about my view of the profession as a student and to help other students compare and contrast their programs. I haven't achieved the results I was quite looking for but have no regrets. At this point I hope to bring you even better material based on any and all feedback I receive.

Personally, this is an amazingly exciting time for me and the profession as a whole. I think we are growing in leaps and bounds with many more miles to go to achieve our ideal place within the medical community. I am at the verge of this huge transition with many many possibilities all of which will seemingly lead to a number of great results, now to figure out which will provide the most for me and my future patients...

Focus man...

Update

Just finished my first week of my last clinical affil. - 10 more to go.

I am still trying to get settled in here in Philly. Trying to map out the Rocky run because I love that movie. I just need to find that high quality outfit he has on and develop a fan base so people cheer me on as I run the streets and try to keep up...

Otherwise, I am enjoying my actual PT work... I am on the Spinal Cord Injury floor and have a great group of patients and co-workers. I am learning a great deal about all things related to SCI.

I am trying to get a jump on the licensure exam I will have to take after I graduate in May while looking into some residency programs to get more specialized in either sports or ortho after I graduate. But for now I have to focus on taking things one day at a time... so I am off to the gym, then to eat, and to study... I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

NPA Think Tank

I just wanted to say NPA Think Tank is a great blog, worth checking often... that's all :-D

I am moving to Philly within the next 36 hours to do my last affil, yay.

When I get down there I think I will get a little more serious about my blog, studying for the boards, obviously my clinical experience, working out (self-preservation), and my various roles through the PT world. Transition phases are fun... there are just about a million things going on in the area of PT, a lot of it is so promising. Last night we here in NY had a great Student Special Interest Group meeting, even though there were only 4 of us present. I look forward to see how it all plays out and what role I (and you) can serve.

Hope you have a great weekend!
